Overview

Scalable networking of patient data

The S/5 Network connects the iCentral with S/5 patient monitors such as Anesthesia Monitor, Cardiocap™/5 and Compact Anesthesia Monitor. Components of the S/5 Network and Connectivity solution include the Connectivity Gateway HL7® interface.

S/5 Network HL7® interface

The S/5 Connectivity Gateway is an HL7® interface that provides means for outbound interfacing from the S/5 patient monitors through the S/5 Network to other systems. Information from S/5 patient monitors connected to an iCentral central station can be transferred to a Clinical Information System (CIS). Transferred information includes trended data, 60-second interval and averages from the patient monitors with patient name and ID. One S/5 Connectivity Gateway application can interface up to four central stations. The S/5 Connectivity Gateway is a software only solution.

Collect software for data collection

Collect software is intended to collect trend, waveform and alarm data from S/5 patient monitors and visualize the data online and offline. This can be done directly from a monitor through a PC serial cable, or from a patient monitor on the S/5 Network through the iCentral. Saving in ASCII format is available in both modes. As a research tool for professionals, both online and offline data can be viewed, replayed and converted for further analysis in external applications such as Microsoft Excel. Collect software is intended to be used as a research tool via S/5 monitors having no medical purpose and not affecting the intended use of the other medical devices.

  • Allows data collection, from minutes to days
  • Both online and offline data can be saved for analysis in external applications
  • Saves all configured settings, making it easy to manipulate the cases belonging to a research study

Benefits

When S/5 monitors are networked to the iCentral central station, caregivers are able to continuously collect all patient monitoring information through the patient care process, across different care areas.

  • Remote viewing: Caregivers can view monitoring data from any networked patient monitor on the iCentral.
  • Data continuity: The patient case, including patient background, care notes, trends, event snapshots, Full Disclosure information laboratory values and ventilator settings, is stored and available for up to 72 hours after the patient has been discharged.
  • Bed-to-Bed viewing: Alarms, numerics, waveforms and numerical trends can be configured for bed-to-bed viewing.

Technology

The S/5 Network provides scalable networking, viewing, storing and exporting of patient monitoring data.

The S/5 Connectivity Gateway is an HL7 interface that connects S/5 monitors to other systems like HIS and CIS.
